The following information is provided to assist you with calculating correct measurements and useful equations of curved properties. |
Equation for calculating the circumference(C) of a circle
C = 2 w R w p
Equation for calculating the Arc length when radius and degrees of Arc is given
L = 2 x R x p / 360 x (degree of arc) |
C: Stands for circumference.
R: Stands for radius
p: Is the mathematical constant pi (p = 3.14159265...)
L: Stands for length of arc |

Definitions - Arc: A curved line that is part of the circumference of a circle.
Chord: A line segment within a circle that touches 2 points to the other.
Circumference: The distance around the circle.
Diameter: The longest distance from one end of a circle to the other.
Origin: The center of the circle.
Radius: Distance from center of circle to any point on it.
Sector: Is similar to a slice of pie (a circle wedge).
Tangent of circle: A line perpendicular to the radius that touches ONLY one point on the circle. |
